Thanks to a Grammy Awards-fueled gain, Adele‘s “21” album beats out Van Halen‘s new “A Different Kind of Truth” for the No. 1 slot on the Billboard 200 chart.

Adele’s “21” sold 237,000 in the week that ended on Feb. 12 (the day of the Grammys) — posting a gain of 95%. Van Halen’s “A Different Kind of Truth” arrives in the No. 2 position with 187,000.

しかしアデルのアルバム”21”、51週連続でチャートインしているとは、これはすごいアルバムですね。偉大すぎるアルバム、マイケル・ジャクソンのスリラーと同列に語ることはできないとは思いますけど、なかなかの強敵でした。

「復活！堂々の1位」にはなれませんでしたが、初週の売り上げ目標は達成しており、関係者はまずまず満足ではないでしょうか。

あとは、どれだけ長くチャートにいるのかですね。ツアーが始まったら売れ続けるでしょう。
